Originally the blog was to help me keep track of my Scottish adventures and assure my mom I was still alive (this required blogging everyday). But it soon became a blogging obsession and I've been blogging my writing journey ever since.
When I'm not writing, blogging, tweeting or writing parodies, I work as a children's librarian and teach college level writing and psych classes. I've also worked as a professional belly dancer, social worker, and pre-school teacher.
I graduated from Cornell University in 2005 with a BA in Religious Studies and Psychology and I earned my MA in English from Arcadia University in 2009. At Arcadia, I met my critique group in a Writing for Children class, and the four of us now blog together at The First Novels Club.

And I'm vegan.
