All right you guys! November is practically here, Hurricane Sandy IS here and that means we're days away from the start of NanoWrimo (and hopefully the restoration of electricity).
Actually I have no idea if I have lost electricity at this point or not since I'm writing this on Sunday afternoon.
If you've been following along on the blog then you know I've been crazily plotting or what I've been referring to as plot-lining my newest novel. And in the last few weeks I've gotten a little side tracked and have been in need of something to really jump start me and get me going again and into the drafting phase.
I did have one major trick up my sleeve. I'm going away this coming weekend with my critique group The First Novels Club to a barn for a weekend of writing, word wars, and playing with goats... (trust me, the goats help).
But...I think NanoWrimo might be the other trick I need.
I tried it last year and royally failed. Mostly because I wasn't ready to write that novel and was completely pantsing it. But this novel... this is WELL--VERY WELL--planned out. And I think this is the year I might win.
So here we go again. NanoWrimo! Just so long as I have electricity by November 1st.... (unless I didn't lose electricity at all....this whole not being able to tell the future thing is really putting a damper on this post).
I sure hope this hurricane won't be as bad as they're predicting by the time it reaches Philadelphia tonight! I really really don't want to lose electricity. Though it would only be a minor inconvenience for me. Whenever the power goes out for a day or more, I always worry more about people who have an elderly loved one at home or a new baby or live on a farm with lots of animals. They're the ones who suffer most. I sure hope Sandy loses the attitude soon!!
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm really praying it's not as bad as they say it will be. But it will be here by tonight so...we'll see! And you're right, it would only be a minor inconvenience for us. Hope everyone stays safe!
