Yes! Finally! After two years in a row of wanting to participate in Nano but not being able to for various reasons, this year I'm taking the plunge.
Not that this year is super different. I don't actually have time. But...I've been wanting to write this novel and it intimidates me. So I figured Nanowrimo was the best way for me to tackle this. And whatever I have to do to do this, I'm in. I'm making the time.
And...I'm pantsing the whole thing.
*bites nails*
So there you have it. Who else is participating this year? And how scared should I be?
P.S. Come and be my friend.

I tried Nano one year and almost died. I am clearly not a fast-paced writer. Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteI did it last year and completed it. I had only heard it about it a couple weeks prior and didn't know what I was getting myself into. Really, it's just making sure you take time everyday to write on your project. It was very difficult for me not to constantly edit, so it's good practice to get out a first draft and create a writing discipline. Nothing to be scared of! The scary part is all the editing that comes after the draft is complete :)
Goos luck, Frankie!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting this one out since I'm coming on the finish line of my WIP and that's where my focus must be. But I did NaNo a couple of years ago and it was amazing, exhausting, exhilerating. I went over the 50k. I was sure that I wrote almost every day to reach the 1,600 words or more needed, even if it was when I wanted to be in bed. I think every writer should try it for the discipline if nothing else. *cracks whip* :D
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I'm glad you can join in the craziness this year, Frankie! I've added you to my buddies :) I'm Sunshine21! Good luck and happy Halloween!!!
ReplyDeleteadded you as a buddy! Good luck this year :D I'm Shortskie byw c:
ReplyDeleteGood luck with Nano. I'm usually a pantser when it comes to it, but this year I really needed to plot out what I want to happen. I'm hoping that works. I added you as a buddy, cherry_chez is what I'm under.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done NaNo since 2008, and I'm super nervous, but I'm doing it anyway. Wheee!
ReplyDeleteI just added you!
I'm also using NaNo this year to write a story I've been trying to get out for over a year. I finally decided to just scrap all the work I had and start fresh for NaNo. Yay, writing!
