Real Live Conversations

For the better part of this week, amidst going back to college for reunion and the death of my computer screen (btw I have a NEW one! YAY!) and other things...I've been hanging out with a lot of kids.

And I feel certain that several of our conversations this week are worth blogging about.

If you agree, leave a comment.

If you don't...well, you're wrong! My blog! I'm right!

Usually....

Mostly...

Anyway....

Real Live Conversation #1

Kid: Frankie, can you help me spell something?

Frankie: Sure! What do you want to spell?

Kid: PBS.

Frankie: PBS?

Kid: Yeah, PBS, how do you spell that?

Frankie. Um, P. B. S.

Kid: ...

Frankie: ...

Kid: Ok, thanks!

Frankie: ...

Real Live Conversation #2

Kid : *yawns*

Frankie: You just yawned. I think you're tired.

Kid: I'm not tired!

Frankie: Yes you are.

Kid: *yawns*

Frankie: You just yawned!

Kid: I did not yawn!

Frankie: What do you think? That you're the pigeon? Go to sleep!

Kid: *yawns* I did NOT Yawn!

Who's tired? Not me!

Real Live Conversation #3

Teacher: And this children, is why it doesn't feel nice to be teased.

Kid A: One time, X was mean to me.

Kid B: X once said a mean thing to me.

Kid C: I feel sad when X calls me a mean word.

Frankie: Ok, ok! Everybody raise your hand if you've ever felt like you were personally victimized by Regina George.

Kids A-Z: ...

Teacher: ...

Frankie: *facepalm*

Real Live Conversation #4

Kid: Zombies aren't real, right?

Frankie: Only in dystopians.

Kid: In dippo-whats?

Frankie: Fine, Zombies aren't real.

Kid: I knew it.

Frankie: Yet...

And there you have it! My amusing conversations this week with those whose ages are still in single digits. What about you guys? Any fun convos this week?

  1. This is awesome. Out of the mouths of babes...my (almost) 5 year old comes up with some funny stuff too. I loved the 1st conversation probably because it reminds me of him.

  2. hehehehe... I love the sleep conversation. They never do like to admit that do they. And I'm not really sure what I would say about the zombie question. Dilemmas you never think about :D

  5. Hahaha I absolutely loooove this!!! Kids are so much fun to talk to and hang out with. :) My uncle had a similar conversation as #1, except with CVS, with his daughter, my cousin.

"Being a kid is hard work!" -the same girl above. :)

  8. Too funny. We've had fun with some great convos with my 5 yr old about the tooth fairy. My daughter has put that poor fairy with all her demands. Did you have a questionaire for the tooth fairy when you lost a tooth?
    Yeah.
