BEA Excitement

Eeek! You guys it's in ONE week! I am so freaking excited to go, and by go I mean actually step past the ropes of BEA this year--I can barely stand it (Book Expo America for anyone just joining in).

Many of you might remember last year that I went to NY with Donna from The First Novels Club for my first in person meeting with Agent Laura.  But this year Donna, Sara and I are actually going INSIDE. Squeee!

The more I read blogs about BEA and tips, etc. the more excited I get!

Also...I may be making an appearance at the Teen Author Carnival next Monday *fingers crossed*

So WHO is going? Who has been? And please share survival tips!

P.S. Friday night you can catch me at Jeri Smith-Ready's book signing in Delaware.

  3. Yay! I'm going again this year.

You probably already know about checking an empty suitcase so you don't have to lug books around during the day or back to home/hotel every day...I feel pretty funny bringing the empty on the bus, but it's so worth it.

  4. Enjoy! This is a bit bittersweet for me, as I originally planned to go with the Class of 2k11. Then...you know...I was bumped to 2k12. Please fill us in on everything!

  5. Well, you know I went last year. Let's just say it's, um, terribly exciting but at the same time, really huge and tiring and NOISY! Be prepared to grab a lot of ARCS, which you'll then have to lug around. And wait in line for autographs. (That's where I spent most of my time and met some really cool teen bloggers while waiting!) As a bookseller, I got into the YA Buzz panel and heard all about Matched, Clockwork Angel, etc. Not sure if they do that sort of thing every year -- but if they do, and you're allowed in, GO! It's worth it.

Hope you have a lot of fun. Not going this year -- have to work (*sighs*).

  6. Joanne, that sounds so cool! Awww, too bad you're working. It'd be fun to be there with you.

BTW I am officially going to TAC :-)
