There was a bit of a hunt --several places claim to be the original cafe where she wrote, but there is only ONE cafe and...as it turns out...it was a Chinese Buffet when I got there--but it was the real place. And I sat...where she sat...and it was magic!
So here you go...
Laura and I decided we needed to skip lunch again and instead went for Chinese Buffet, particularly the Chinese Buffet that used to be Nicholson's Diner where JK Rowling ACTUALLY DID write the Harry Potter books. We recruited Justin to come along to and had the best meal.
Isn't it crazy that this little spot is where it all began...well there and on the train ;)
How awesome!! I'm quite jealous over here. It's like the place must be magical knowing that she did all that awesome writing there.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing the stories of where authors came up with their ideas and then where they wrote them. It's so inspirational!
Wow, that's so cool! I'd love to visit there sometime. Hopefully soak up a bit of residual awesome.
ReplyDeletewow, sooo jealous of you! I'd love to visit that place someday! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. Me = jealous!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so awesome. I'd love to visit the cafe one of these days. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo cool Frankie! I'm totally jealous! :D I would've loved to have gone to Rowling's literary haven, even for just a moment to take a peek inside, hehe. Nice pictures by the way.

Harry Potter! *Freak out moment*
ReplyDeleteohhh...I want to go see the cafe, now.
The MTV Movies team has been catching up with cast members and following the film around as it premieres around the world, but tonight (Monday, November 15), they'll have them live from the red carpet at the film's New York premiere. I’m so excited for the red carpet.
ReplyDeletea) You look SO MUCH like Julie in that picture.
ReplyDeleteb) I'm jealous you went to actual place! When I was in Scotland I went to the Elephant House cafe, and I remember sitting there thinking how vibe-less it felt and wondering how Rowling could've written there. Now I have my answer!
