Movie trailers are probably one of my favorite things in the world. I mean seriously, sometimes they are better than movies themselves. Think about it...
You get the story set up, the characters, the inciting incident, rising action, conflict, climax and denoument....all in 3 minutes or less!
Plus, trailers always include the best scenes--the money shots, and play super intense music. It's like a roller coaster ride. But free! And no feeling sick--unless you love being turned upside down at ridiculous speeds.
I love movie trailers so much that I will refuse to see a movie in the theater if I think we won't make it before the previews---that's love baby.
So I wanted to share some of my favorite trailers of all time--not necessarily my favorite movies, but really, its the trailer that counts here.
1. Tristan and Isolde
This is in my opinion one of the best trailers of all time--love, action, romance, obvious conflict, tension, plus Evancescence! WIN! I seriously have watched this trailer more times than I should ever admit.
2. LOTR: The Two Towers
Boo! They won't let me embed!
This trailer is tops! And it's a middle of the trilogy trailer too--so it gets bonus points for being so fantastic, and my favorite out of the three trailers for this franchise. Plus, Requeim for a Dream music! I was going to do a list of my favorite moments in the trailer, but then I realized I'd be listing practically every screen cap.
This is another trailer I've seen one time too many!
3. The Other Boleyn Girl
I have chills! OMG! LOVE this trailer sooooo much. Sometimes watching it makes me feel better about the horrendous job they did on the movie.
4. The Duchess
Ok Im noticing a theme here--apparently for me to love a trailer, it needs to be historical and include an epic love story and horses. Whatever. I LOVE these trailers the most!
And to leave you with a laugh after all of that intensity....
Trailer for Every Oscar-Winning Movie Ever! This is pure genius, and the comments are just as funny and worth reading.
P.S. Did you notice that they use the same music that's in The Other Boleyn Girl trailer? Maybe that's the magic song....
Anyway trailer love!
I love trailers too...it's my favorite part of going to the movies, so I make sure to get there on time. The Other Boleyn Girl trailer...FANTASTIC!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Frankie! In fact, I downloaded this App on my iPhone which is nothing but movie trailers! I watch it all the time. I also can't go into the movie late because I have to be there to watch the previews. Sometime I think watching all the previews is better than the movie!
ReplyDeleteI love movies, and I LOVE movie trailers! Thanks for the great post. I have to laugh at the theme throughout - you certainly do love your corset ripping dramas! What a shame that The Other Boleyn Girl wasn't nearly as good as the book, but are they ever?
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the trailer for The Owls of Ga'hoole movie?
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw it, I was like--really? They're owls. And I know it's a major selling MG series and all, but...they're OWLS.
And then I saw the trailer. Most epic trailer ever!

I love trailers!!!
ReplyDeleteThat last one was hilarious!
I'm totally a trailer addict also (and Trailer Addict is an awesome website). I can watch trailers all day long... and have made my husband see a movie a second time in a different theater to see different trailers.
ReplyDeleteAh! I'm a sucker for a good movie trailer myself. I would seriously go to the movies just to see them. A really good trailer can give me chills! I'm also a fan for historical ones which is why I probably seen the trailer for The Young Victoria more times than I care to count.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I hadn't even thought about this before, but trailers ARE awesome! Thanks for pointing that out Frankie.
ReplyDeleteThat last trailer TOTALLY made my day.
ReplyDelete*watches it again*
I think movie trailers are extremely important for advertising. If the trailer doesn't look very attractive or interesting, people usually assume the movie is that way as well.
ReplyDeleteI love the Tristan & Isolde trailer as well. The movie's got its flaws but the trailer makes the movie look soooo good.

Trailers are awesome! The one for HP7 gives me chills every time I see it.
ReplyDeleteTalk of trailers always reminds me of that storyline in Entourage about the Medellin movie and its great trailer. Haha.
I love movie trailers too and you've just made me realized that I haven't been to the apple site in a while to watch trailers.
ReplyDeleteOne of my fav trailers is the one for Sunshine it also has the song Requiem for a Dream that's in the Two Towers trailer. Its so intense I love it!
And previews are really part of the whole going to the movies experience, I feel sad whenever I miss the previews.
I loved Tristan and Isolde! Thanks for sharing these trailers. I'm a huge fan of watching the previews too! These trailers take me back to some great movies.
