So this weekend my mother hosted her annual Golden Heart Awards Banquet where “unsung heroes” in the community are recognized for their community service by the Golden Heart Group, as well as their congressmen, senators, mayors, and governors.
It’s a really uplifting night.
It’s also one of the few nights each year that all of my siblings are together—are dressed up---AND in the mood for pictures (unlike Thanksgiving where we’re stuffed with tofurkey).
