Signed LINGER Giveaway!!!!

In honor of July and LINGER's upcoming release and...because I felt like it, I'm giving away a SIGNED copy of LINGER!

YAY!

The contest is simple! Simply comment below with who you'd cast to be Grace and Sam in the movie version of SHIVER (which I so hope I get to see in the near future!).

And if you're not already one of the Cool People aka a follower, then head on over to the sidebar and click that follow button.

Did you do it?

Awesome!

Ok, now...go cast Grace and Sam!

Want more votes? Bring a friend over to my blog and make sure they tell me you sent them and I'll give you an extra vote! For every friend you send, your name gets entered again. AND if your referral makes a referral than you get more chances from that too because I grandfather in the votes (its a labor of love). So please get creative and tweet, blog, facebook, beg, bribe...ummm just figure out a way to get more friends over here so you have more chances to win, ok? :-)

And here is the demonstration in case what I just said makes no sense.

So Harry Potter reads my blog. "It's great for some late night reading, especially when your camping out in the middle of nowhere and there are death eaters on your trail and you just need a good laugh." Harry really really wants to read LINGER and own a copy signed by Maggie Stiefvater. "Hey, one of my dad's best friends was a werewolf." And so he enters my contest by commenting below:

"For Sam, I would cast this actor...he's British and he has dark brown hair, plays a...I think he plays a wizard in these movies that...well I can't really remember the name, but he's been in 6 of them and the 7th is about to come out in two parts and then he's going to be out of work so I think he'd make a great Sam. His initials are something like...D...R... And for Grace, oh there is this actress in the movie too who would be perfect...her name is like...Emma....Emma Whats-her-name."

Riiiiiight.

Anyway 1 point is awarded to Dan Radcliffe Harry Potter.

But 1 point is not enough for Harry. He REALLY wants to read own LINGER signed! So to get more points, he goes to see Hermione.

Harry: Hermione, can you do me a favor?

Hermione: What is it, Harry? Need me to brew some polyjuice potion? Are we breaking and entering into Gringotts? Did you run out of quills to do your homework with?

Harry: No, I....

Hermione: Do you need relationship advice about you and Ginny? Or you need to borrow a few galleons for a butterbeer?

Harry: Hermione, no-I just--

Hermione: You've finally decided to join S.P.E.W.! I knew you'd come around, let me see if I have an extra button...

Harry: HERMIONE!! I just wanted you to follow Frankie's blog and sign up for her contest to win a signed copy of LINGER.

Hermione: Oh, I love Frankie's blog! Harry, why didn't you just say so?

Harry:...

And so 1 point is awarded to Hermione and 2 points go to Harry!

But now Hermione wants more points. "I didn't receive a 174% on my runes final for nothing. I should have the most points." So she goes to Ron.

Hermione: Ron, listen you need to go sign up to follow Frankie's Blog and then enter her LINGER contest.

Ron: What's a blog? Is it like a snog?

Hermione: *blushes* No, it's an online journal of sorts that muggles write. You can read them for fun.

Ron: Aw, Hermione! More reading? What are you trying to do to me, woman?

Hermione: Don't call me woman and this blog is different, its really fun to read--even you'll enjoy it.

Ron: If I follow Frankie's blog can we snog in the room of requirments later?

Hermione: RONALD!

Ron: Ok fine...oh hey! Frankie's blog IS awesome. Ok, I'm totally following now.

Hermione: Yay!

Ron: Now can we snog?

So 1 point goes to Ron, 2 to Hermione and 3 to Harry. Get it?

Old Followers get their points multiplied times 2! And I'll throw in 15 extra points if you write a whole blog post about this.

Cool?

Contest ends Sunday, July 11 at 11:59PM.  (Open Internationally)

I'd cast Sam as Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys. Maggie showed a picture on the blog and all I thought was: Yes!

As for Grace....ah I have no idea...Rachel Hurd Wood looks a lot like Grace, though i'm still a bit iffy about it.

  2. I can kinda see the girl who plays Grace (I forget her name) off of The Secret Life of the American Teenager being well, Grace. She really does sweet and innocent well.

As for Sam, that one's more difficult. Maybe Ian Somerhalder from the Vampire Diaries. But I'm thinking an unknown for Sam would be better.

I was in Maagie Stiefvater's blog a long time ago and read that she saw Rachel Hurd-Wood like Gracie and ever since I haven't been able of seeing anyone else like Gracie.. of course Maggie then changed her mind, but I still see Rachel like Gracie. And Sam is harder, because I don't see anyone like him, but I think Liam Aiken is pretty hot and if he worked out a bit he could play the role, I just loved him in the Lemony Snicket movie.

  5. See, if they were in their 20's or 30's, this would be easy. I don't know who any of the hot young people are. Would it be lame to go with Dakota Fanning for Grace and... and... I think Sam should be AJ from Empire Records, sent forward 15 years using a time machine. There. I said it. I want AJ. He's emo but tough.

And for Grace, I was looking through websites, and I saw a picture of Emma Watson with blonde hair, Instantly thought of Grace, so thats who'd I've have to choose! Good questions, and GREAT giveaway :)

So, here are some guesses. Yeah, I spent some time searching over the Internet to get something to post here.

    Sam - Guy Burnet
    Grace - Amber Tamblyn

I tried for youngish and ummm. Okay, I had no idea what I was doing but those are my offerings.

  16. Happily following!

Since I heard the idea of Rachel Hurd Wood before I read the book, she was definitely who I was picturing as Grace throughout.

For Sam, I think Logan Lerman would be best.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ooh, I agree with Dawn--Amber Tamblyn would make a great Grace.

I have no idea who to cast as Sam..sadly, there aren't a lot of young-ish male actors that I think could do it. :(

I'm an OLD follower, thank you very much. =P

I'll try to get Luna over here too. She's too awesome to not follow you. ;)

And have to say as a life long (or at least as long as I've been able to read!) fan of Harry Potter I have to say your example was quite wonderful and it had me seven types of giddy. (Are there seven types of giddy? I'm not sure...) Anywho it made me laugh. I especially liked Ron's bit. Just saying.

As for who I'd cast, as Sam I'd have to pick Logan Lerman, not to copy anybody but I adore him. He can act and I like looking at him. Also he has beautiful eyes.

And as for Grace, though I am personally not the biggest fan of Disney show stars, I'd have to pick Selena Gomez. Because I think she has talent and imagining her with Grace's hair kind of completes how I saw Grace in my head. Not perfect but close.

  22. As Sam, I would like to see maybe Chace Crawford (someone else answered it already) or Penn Bagdeley. I don't know how to explain it, I could just see one of them as Sam.

As Grace, I don't really know, but the main thing is that it won't be any of the Disney Stars (Miley Cyrus etc.) Maybe Emma Watson could be a good one with a lighter hair.

I would like to see some unknown actors so my enjoyment of the movie is not hindered by seeing them in a pervious role.

  34. I'd want Leighton Meester to be casted as Grace. I really liked Grace's character, and I thought she was really mature and sophisticated, but could still have some fun. I think that Leighton would be perfect, classy yet fun. And she's gorgeous. She may be cruel in Gossip Girl, I think that she definitely has a sweet side. She still looks fairly young too.

For Sam, maybe Liam Hemsworth. He is a new actor, and definitely has that rough look a a wolf. And he is fine. If not him, Drew Fuller. I don't know if he's too old though.

Awesome contest. Really got me thinking.

  43. For Grace, I like Rachel Hurd-Wood. I believe Maggie put her down as a possible choice, as well. Rachel played one of my favorite characters of all time brilliantly (Wendy Darling), and I think she'd do well as Grace.

Sam would have to be Kevin McHale from Glee. His stare and the shape of his frown really say Sam to me. And he can sing!
