Admit it, you are!
Anyway, I was thinking, you know with the movie coming out and all, Edward and Jacob are kind of stealing all of the love.
Sure we all love Edward...as long as he keeps his shirt on.
And we love Jacob...as long as he keeps his shirt off.
But there are a lot of other fabulous literary guys (and girls) we have crushes on--especially in YA!
And maybe they are feeling a little neglected this week...
"I look good with my shirt on and off! Where's my love?"
Damon Salvatore, Vampire Diaries
"Once the school finds out I'm dating a student, I'll NEED some love."
Ezra aka Mr. Fitz, Pretty Little Liars
So I propose a Blogfest on Wednesday, June 30th!
Before you head out to see Eclipse, why not let your underappreciated literary crush know how much you love them. Tell them why they are so cute, adorable, sexy, caring, funny, and awesome that you wish they were real and not just living in some author's head. And even if they're not starring in a major movie at the end of this month, we still think they're all that and a bag of chips.
Anyone can participate by signing up down below with the Mr. Linky. And if love letters aren't your thing, feel free to format it any way you like--but come on, let's spread the YA Literary Love! You can help out by tweeting, and posting on your blogs and then check back here on Wednesday to see who everyone's literary crush is!

That sounds like a lot of fun... the blogfest, not the movie. I saw the first and that's the extent of any twilight experience for me. Doesn't interest me, though find it funny how you asked for Edward to have his shirt on but posted a picture with his shirt off.
ReplyDeleteBut I digress. If I can think of a literary crush, then I'll join. Can't promise it will happen but I'll try and I'll tweet it so people know.
Thanks, Dawn! I really appreciate you spreading the word. And LOL on the no shirt thing...yeah I think I was trying to prove my point and forgot the ramifications of actually posting Edward without a shirt, but at least I got Jacob in there;)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I appreciate the enthusiasm, you should really give people a little more time to hear about and prepare for a blogfest.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my helpful guidelines.

There's already 2 that day and one the next. I suggest moving it out a month.
I'm SOO in! This is a great idea! I have so many literary crushes, this is going to be hard! I don't want to write to any of the way popular men, they will already have lots of love, I think I'm going to choose someone who doesn't get the credit that is fully due! Yay, thanks for this!
ReplyDeleteNah who needs time to profess one's love of a pretend person anyway? Not this girl. I'm so there.
ReplyDeleteYay guys! Glad you're excited--this is just meant to be a fun, spur of the moment thing--mostly because I was in the mood to blog about hot guys in books:-)
ReplyDeleteDo comic book characters count as literary figures?
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic idea! I think I'll write at least three letters.
ReplyDeleteOoh, fun! I forgot about the last blogfest so I'm glad it's only on in a few days time--this way I can't forget. Right?
ReplyDeleteNow, who to write my letter to? *ponders*
Ohhh, yes please! I will think up one and then eagerly join!
ReplyDelete:)
Wonderful idea! Now, I need to decide who I <3 the most! :)
ReplyDeleteYup. I will enter. The potential for humor is just too great. :D
ReplyDeleteThis is going to take some intense thinking. I've read many books lately. It's hard to choose just ONE literary hottie!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally in. I can think of a few, and I think I'm almost positive I know who I'm going to write my love letter to.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun idea and I'm excited.
Also, I posted it on my blog and will tweet it for you a couple of times before Wednesday. :)
This looks fun! But who to choose...hmm...
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm in. Assuming I can narrow the list!
ReplyDeleteGreat contest Frankie! I had so much fun thinking about my literary crush (who is definitely more manly than Edward OR Jacob!)
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I am NOT going to see Eclipse. Reading the book (which I did for work, as preparation for running our midnight release party for Breaking Dawn) was enough. I have no desire to see any of the movies. Ever.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I simply love this idea! I've got a few to choose from so I may or may not actually get an entry done in time.
Also, I have a question: does the character have to be from a published work? 'Cause I could easily do a love letter (or three) to one of my own characters (or three).
This looks way fun...and I agree we don't need tons of time here--this isn't a WIP we're posting, just a few fun paragraphs about a fave character. I'm totally in.
ReplyDeleteFTR, we share a taste in men. #BFF4ever
ReplyDeleteIt's already Wednesday 30th in Australia so looks like I'm writing my letter today!
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party, and I'm not even sure how I stumbled on your blog/this contest...but I thought I'd give you an even 15! This is an awesome idea :)
ReplyDeleteI won't be seeing the movie, but this is a great idea. So I'm in!
ReplyDeleteI came up with something quick. I'm so last minute.
ReplyDeleteSo fun!
Love it! Great idea!

ReplyDeleteBlah. It deleted my comment. I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, added my name to the list! That was really fun.
My post is up!! To many to just choose one! LOL
ReplyDeleteAck! Totally forgot about this today. Dang! I may do a letter (or multiple letters) anyway. Later, when I can properly focus my eyes... o.O
ReplyDeleteReally loved it, have a delightful fun!
