Things are a little hectic this week since I've been finishing final line edits and also started my summer job--seriously, summer is supposed to be like all laid back and stuff and somehow I always seem to be busiest when the heat goes up. So anyway, just wanted to check in and alert you to the possibililty of a lack of blogging this week--if that is the case, now you know why.
But I'll rally. No worries.
Anyway now that summer is officially here, I hope you're all enjoying it.
While I work a bajillion hours, can you tell me about any awesome books you've recently read? #curious!
I just finished UNDER MY SKIN by Judith Graves and really enjoyed it. It was a fun read with a different twist. I'm working on MISTWOOD by Leah Cypess and am loving it so far. Her writing is beautiful! Good luck with the copyedits!
ReplyDeleteOooh that one sounds good and Ive been wanting to read Mistwood. Cool! And thank you--almost done!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the summer job and line edits! I can't recommend this book enough - The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. Also just read When You Reach Me. And I read Jellicoe Road a while back. They were all great, but THE SKY...is my favorite read of 2010 so far.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the middle of something that is only so-so, but next I'm starting Gayle Forman's SISTERS IN SANITY.(I was a fan of IF I STAY, so I'm looking forward to reading something else by Forman!
ReplyDeleteHappy summer. Don't work too hard!
Good luck with the cop edits and your summer job! Recently I've read Dust of 100 Dogs by A.S. King and it was gripping from beginning to end, and the most recent book in the Morganville Vampires series (I love that series!). But that's it between writing and school I had no free reading time. Rest assured by the end of the summer the list will be at least fifteen books long.
ReplyDeleteWhite Cat by Holly Black! A friend actually just got me a signed copy of Tithe so I'm definitely gonna read that before getting into Demon's Covenant by Sarah Rees Brennan :D
ReplyDeleteHey there! I started Sisters Red, by Jackson Pearce--it's a twisted take on Little Red Riding Hood. Loving it!
ReplyDeleteOoh! Ooh! I just read The Order of Odd Fish, by James Kennedy. It was very bizarre, but extremely well-written and unique.
ReplyDeleteThe Goats by Brock Cole! The writing is so crisp and beautiful, and it's the most head-on treatment I've read of burgeoning sexuality maybe ever. It's slim, lovely and set in the summer, so now's the perfect time to read it!
