So since I finished my revisions for Agent Laura (and I'm trying to outline book 2) my brain is kind of mush. And I was trying to figure out what to blog about today and then I saw this fun questionnaire over at Storywings and thought...YEAH! That looks like fun, and maybe you guys will think so too, especially some of my newer followers who don't know me and my crazy antics as well. For the cool people who've been hanging out here with me for awhile, ummm, hope you enjoy the refresher. Don't worry, I promise to entertain.
1. Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
You know, I don't even think about this. As a kid, definitely closed! I used to be very freaked out by all things that went bump in the night...or under my bed. But unless I've just watched Paranormal Activity, I'm a big girl, and the closet can be closed or open. I care not.
2. Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotels?
No, I don't. And this has nothing to do with my liking of free stuff. I like free stuff as much as the next person. Actually I LOVE free stuff, particularly ARCs...if...ummmm anyone wants to send me some...*bats eyelashes* But anyway, I'm super picky about what shampoos, conditioners and body washes I use (usually they involve things like "organic" and "no animal testing" and "smells like Britney Spears" on the label....j/k...sort of), and those are definitely not the ones in the hotels.
3. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
I think my intention is for them to be tucked in, but I move around a lot...
4. Would you rather be attacked by a bear or a swarm of bees?
EeEK! Neither? Ok...so this is a tricky question because location is key. So let's say you're being attacked right by a river. Then you could probably jump into the water and be safe from the bees. Yay! But not the bear. Crap! Then again, if you're near a cabin, you could easily escape inside the cabin and lock the door. But the bees might slip in when the door's open and then the bear could knock down the door. Soooo hmmmm. You probably have less of a chance of outrunning a swarm of bees than a bear....so if you're in a big open space with no mud around and no water....bear? Because bees are fast little buggers and I've seen My Girl!
5. Do you have freckles?
Yes I do as a matter of fact, but they don't show up in pictures or in my vlogs--there I just look pale. I have some freckles on my arms and shoulders too, but they're sparse.
6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who try to force their beliefs and opinions on you. UGH!
7. Have you ever peed in the woods?
Hehe, yeah! Who hasn't peed in the woods? Because if you say you didn't I think you might be lying.
8. Do you ever dance if there’s no music playing?
Oh Yeah! I almost always have a song in my head that I want to dance to or choreograph a dance to, and yeah...I can be that girl in the line that is doing stomach rolls and undulations while I wait. Maybe THAT'S WHY I always get stared at when I'm at Barnes and Noble....
9. Do you chew your pens and pencils?
No.
10. Is it okay for guys to wear pink?
Sure! But not neon pink. Neon pink is never ok for anyone to wear. Just saying...
11. What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
I don't....but I do dip Chik'n nuggets in honey or agave nectar.
12. What is your favorite food?
Mangoes!!!!!!!! I pine, I swoon, I live for mangoes.
13. What movies could you watch over and over and still love?
My all time favorite movie is In America, about the Irish family that moves to NY to recover after the death of their son. I don't know how many times I've watched it, but every single time, I laugh and cry and fall in love with it all over again. Best. Movie. Ever.
14. Were you ever a boy/girl scout?
No, my mom never sent me down that route. I was a belly dancer instead;)
15. Would you ever strip or pose nude in a magazine?
LOL. Actually, one of my secret goals in life (right after becoming a race car driver) is to be asked by PETA to star in one of their I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur Campaigns.
When I'm a super famous New York Times Best Selling Author, PETA, call me! We'll do mangoes.
Look, it's Alicia! One of my favorite vegans!
16. Can you change the oil on a car?
Yes! I drive right up to the oil change service man and ask for one. Wait...is that not the right answer...?
17. Ever gotten a speeding ticket?
Only once, along with like 15 other people that day on that very road. The officer was on a roll and he wasn't interested in my cute girl act or the explanation I'd practiced.
18. Ever ran out of gas?
Like completely out? No, but I've gotten scarily close when I was driving on empty down the PA Turnpike and there were literally NO stops for miles and miles. I was freaking out that my car was going to die until we found an exit where there was NO gas station just a shady looking bathroom and ghost town that looked like the start of a horror movie. So then I was freaking out that I was going to die in a cliche horror movie way in a ghost town. But I didn't. And then I found gas. Yay!
19. Are you lazy?
Nope.
20. When you were a kid, what did you dress up as for Halloween?
What didn't I dress up as? I was everything. Strawberry Shortcake, Jem, a witch, a princess, a harem dancer...(I guess I was into the belly dancing thing before I knew it)
21. How many languages can you speak?
Sadly, one. I used to be fluent in Spanish in high school, to the point where I was dreaming in Spanish. But then Latin and Greek undid me at Cornell. Although I had this weird reaction to language my senior year in Hebrew. It was my first time in a language class where you could actually speak the language (unlike Greek and Latin which you cannot speak! Don't try). And so my teacher would ask me to translate something into Hebrew, and I guess this was like a classical conditioning, Pavlonian thing, but my brain would automatically translate whatever he said into Spanish, and then into Hebrew. It was so weird. Don't ask.
22. Who is better…Leno or Letterman?
Ummm, I don't know, I don't really watch either.
23. Do you sing in the car?
Yes, and everytime I do, I remember I need to sign up for singing lessons. Because I am that bad at it.
24. Ever eat a pierogi?
Yes, but not my fave. I was more of a blintze person....hmmmmm must find a recipe for vegan blintzes.
25. First concert?
The Beach Boys when I was 9. Now THAT was a good time:-)
Ok, I hope you enjoyed! Feel free to post these on your blog and answer the questions so I can know more about you too--and if you do post, leave a link for me to follow below:-)

Love your answers. My favorite mango is the Champagne--those tiny ones with flesh like satin. But I'd have to say nothing beats a fully ripe white peach. I once had a tree...oh, how I miss it.
ReplyDeleteOoooh yes. You had a peach tree? Lucky! What I wouldn't give for a mango tree...
ReplyDeleteI have 1 freckle. On my pointer finger. Very bizarre.
ReplyDeleteAnd my Dad's house in Ecuador has several huge mango trees overflowing with mangoes. I wish he could send them to me. I'd make a mint.
Ever tried a green mango with salt? We used to pick them off the trees and eat them like that when I was a kid. Yum. But don't eat too many like that. It'll make you sick.
D'you think PETA would ask me to star in one of their no-fur ads? I'd do it. Why not? I only have one spot to cover, as opposed to the ladies' two, so it'd be a MUCH easier shoot.
ReplyDelete*cough*
OMG, now I have to Google pierogi.
ReplyDeleteAnd Simon...aren't you (for the sake of male pride) supposed to tell us how much more difficult it will be to cover that one spot?
@Vicki: We can sidestep that particular issue by photographing me from the rear....
ReplyDeleteGreat answers. Loved your Halloween costumes.
ReplyDeleteThe good old days.
Great questions, great answers. Nice to get to know you a little better.
ReplyDeleteCarolina, OMG sooooo jealous and Ill have to try a green mango with salt.
ReplyDeleteVicki, Yeah I need to get behind you on that one.
And Simon, now I'd just say...well isn't that going to be hard to cover up and more work for PETA? Oh Snap!
Christine, thanks!
Matt, yay Im glad you enjoyed--you should totally post answers too:-)
Loved your answers! You are a brave to be posing nude...no way in the world would I EVER do that...I try to avoid the mirror at all costs!
ReplyDeleteGreat Q&A. I'm hesitant to admit that this central Illinois girl has never tried a mango. Hmmm...must correct that.
ReplyDeleteKelly, thanks and hahaa Im not posing nude yet...still waiting for that call from PETA!
ReplyDeleteRhonda, ooooh def try one! You'll love it!
No way! I dreamed in Spanish in high school too! I took four years and was pretty fluent but I never get to use it now.
ReplyDeleteI also love mangoes, everyone I know hates them for some reason. (And I can't get any good ones in the midwest for the life of me.) I actually like how messy they are, lol, makes me feel like I'm eating them in the jungle or something.
Great post, I'll have to try this some time. I learned lots about you!
What a fun post! I absolutely LOVE cheese blintzes - mmm, so good! :-)
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers! Mmm, mangoes!
ReplyDeleteI'll probably answer these questions on Thursday. Fun!
Valerie, hehehe me too! And I hate it when people try and cut mangoes--I mean mango slices are delicious, but you're supposed to bite into them and get all of the juices for yourself! Yum!
ReplyDeleteShannon, ooooh I did too!!! I must find a vegan recipe.
Laura, yay! Thanks and Im looking forward to reading your answers to the questions.
This was so great! I like how you change your oil. I do it the same way, ha ha!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to learn more about you!
Um...I've never peed in the woods. For realz. I don't camp without a cabin for that very reason. I think there are much better ways to water the trees. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, that running out of gas, ending up in a ghost town story is scary! I'd be freaked. We almost ran out of gas once on a not-so-populated stretch of desert road between Vegas and LA. The first place we stopped looked like it had a gas station, but turned out to be the remnants of an old gas station. We found out the closest station was actually back the way we came, so we backtracked and ended up at this tiny little "town" with a population of 12. But there was gas.
ReplyDeleteIf you love mangoes, you have to try Taiwanese mango shaved ice. Deliciousness!
Great answers. Chik'n nuggets are totally made of win.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Congrats on finishing your revisions.
ReplyDeleteAnd so true - who hasn't peed in the woods?
I gotta say Frankie... I disagree about the neon pink =)
ReplyDeleteHowever, you redeem yourself with mangoes. Holy yummy. Do you ever have them with sticky rice and coconut milk? (Thai dessert) It. Is. So. Good.
You went to Cornell - that's why I like you!
ReplyDeleteI spent an AWESOME semester there (MCLLU [O.G. West campus] represent!). It was seriously one of the best times of my life - everyone was so nice and I got close to people there so quickly.
ah sigh...
