AND if your referral makes a referral than you get more chances from that too because I grandfather in the votes. So, my favorite Linger scene is the bathtub scene, just because that is some seriously amazing writing. (kinda makes me want to throw rocks at my own draft). And...um...I'm pretty sure I've already sent all my followers your way--given my blog war with you, but if I can scrounge up any I will try!

My favorite scene is from Shiver where Grace uses what small amount of werewolf she possesses to get Sam to change back into a human for a few seconds before injecting him and he changes back into a wolf.

ReplyDeleteI loved the ending of Shiver, so I'm looking forward to Linger because I'm hoping it will capture a lot of what I saw at the end of Shiver. You were right, it has kind of stuck with me. My favorite scene is definitely the end, because I wasn't really sure if Sam was real or not and then he's there (I listened to it on CD, and hearing his voice was a very cool effect) and it's really just amazing.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite scene, as I am yet to find Ballad or Lament in NZ bookstores, is in Shiver and it's the end scene in which we discover all is not lost and a certain someone is standing there- which I won't say for fear of spoilers to those who may have not read yet, as well as the candy shop scene. That scene totally rocks everyone's socks, it appears :) I also agree with Monica when she says 'when Sam leaves the note for Grace that has the Rilke poem on it and says "I wish I had written this for you"'- How are we supposed to choose?! So many absolute 'awh' scenes. I think we all may need a Sam. Can that be your next contest? :D

ReplyDeleteI've read all of Maggie's novels, and my favorite scene is in LAMENT where Dee and Luke are eating at The Sticky Pig. She's thinking to herself about how their relationship would evolve if they were a normal couple - going to the state park, losing her virginity under the cover of fall leaves, etc. - but she realizes that none of that will ever happen.
