Never Lose a Dare: The Clueless Scene

It's here, the moment you've all been waiting for...

Quick recap: My critique partner Donna from the First Novels Club challenged me to finish my revision of my WIP by midnight January 1st. I--having no real concept of time overly hopeful totally not thinking  naively accepted. And obviously, I'm still working on my revision (2 chapters to go!!!).

Part of the dare involved me agreeing to act out an entire scene from Clueless by myself--like play every role.

So I put the scene to vote. And you all picked The Christian Seduction, the scene when Cher tries to seduce Christian with her feet and then...rolls off the bed.

So there you go. I spent Saturday night dressing up like a boy, playing footsies with myself and falling off the bed...A Lot!

OhMyGodICantBelieveImDoingThis!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

Special thanks to Sergio Herrera, my director, camera man, editor and all around awesomesauce...Eva for doing my make up and sometimes holding up a lamp for lighting and Kurt, for taking the production stills and being my Spartacus stand in!

Also....

OMG!

  2. HAHAHAHA! That was hilarious. Did it hurt when you fell off the bed? It sounded like it might've. ;)

You're such a good sport, Frankie! We <3 you. I can't wait to for Webcam 4 Writers!!

  3. OMG! That was by far one of the funniest things I have every watched! Awesome! Great editing by the way - love the dress (also love the hat-that-states-I-am-playing-a-male-in-this-scene-in-case-you-can't-tell) lol

Y'all and your dares! yikes. Oh & like Sarah - did it hurt when you fell off the bed?

Cannot wait for the next post! ;o)

  4. I don't think Christian would ever wear a hat like that...redo!!!! (LOL, just kidding, I know Southern Princess is right, that was obviously the obligatory "I'm playing a guy and have too much hair to make this realistic, but don't you love my hat?" look)

Nicely done! I don't think I would have been able to let myself fall off the bed...I would have wanted to catch myself. I hope you had some pillows on the floor or something.

  5. LOL! What a great way to start my morning. :)

  6. Bahaaahaaa! That's awesome. You should bring your laptop to class and project it on the big screen for your students. Then they could psychoanalyze you and try to figure out why an intelligent, professorial woman would willingly throw herself off a bed for the entertainment of strange people from the blogosphere... :)

Hysterical. You, m'dear, are the awesomesauce (as the kids say nowadays... wait, do they actually say that?)

Plus, the music in the credits is totally Monty Pythonesque. Love eet!

    *snicker* *snort*

(You are nothing, if not a good sport, Frankie. :)

  12. Erica, Oh yeah I had to do everything. And thanks. Love that dress too. And my hair appreciates the compliments.

Sarah, it hurt a little. I had pillows there. It wasn't really a big deal. Though the bed we used was unsually high up. So I did learn though that I have no problem hurling myself off the bed. I think I should be a stunt double.

SP, YAY! That makes me feel better, because this is for me one of the most embarassing things Ive seen. And yeah to the Christian hat. There's no way I could really play a boy. Also the bed frame was good for hiding my cleavage.

Heather, bite your tongue or Ill be daring you next! And yeah, had to have the hat. I had pillows, but I was just throwing myself off of it.

    Karen, haha well you're welcome.

Simon, yes the kids say awesomesauce, at least I do. And oh yeah, Im the queen of good sports!

Marybeth, ah, as long as I put the #windinSOMEONE'Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiir my day is complete.

Nisa, yep, you're smart. And thanks!

    Mariah, aww you're welcome.

Tricia, thank you. Can you make that up for me? I could use it:-)

    That. Is. Awesome.

And the best part? I didn't even dare you to do it, so I don't have to worry about retaliation--though I know my dare is coming. *sighs*

Okay, I REALLY need to be editing right now, so I'm going--but not before I watch it ONE MORE TIME!!!

  21. Frankie! I bet you had so much fun reenacting a scene from your own story! I loved it! You are so cute and brave for posting this! A job well done!

I like the tension in the scene, imagine, reading a romance where the girl is trying to seduce her man and she falls off the bed? GREAT humor!
