Wordle...What's My Book About?

Ok so Shannon just posted her wordle of chapter one and because I'm me, I decided I should try and summarize Shannon's chapter 1, just based on on her Wordle, and if I do say so myself, the story I invented about this girl who also happens to wear jeans-it's going to be great!

And that was so much fun I decided to make my own wordle, and now I kind of want someone to come up with my chapter one for me, so how about a contest...

I live for these things, giving a bunch of people 5 words or 5 objects and seeing how many different stories, scenarios and ideas can come out of it.  Really, nothing amuses me more. And look...I'll even give you some motivation to play along with my shenanigans. Like how about a free book? Ooooh enticing.

Wordle: Rose Lily Chapter 1
Now quite possibly running two contests on my blog at once could be confusing (oooh look win an arc of Fallen over here) and this is quite probably, possibly, maybe, ok fine, definitely my little way of proscratinating a bit on my revision (by the way I do feel better about it today but still overwhelmed, thank you everyone for the supportive comments), but seriously, this is SO MUCH FUN.

Ninjadillo says just get on with it already, announce contest, stop using adverbs and get back to work!!!! Heeeeyah!

OK! OK! I'll get to the point.

How about this, you invent the craziest, funniest, kookiest, or sexiest, darkest, most mysterious (or whatever, just take my words and have fun) short story and post it in the comments and Friday afternoon (11/13) at say around 4, I will pick the one that amuses me the most and you can have a choice of one of the following hardcover books:

1) Wings, Aprillyne Pike
2) Impossible, Nancy Werlin
3) The Tear Collector, Patrick Jones
4) New Moon, Stephenie Meyer

How's that! Ok, go for it and I'm going to tackle more revisions before Ninjadillo kicks my butt.

P.S. If you click on the wordle it'll take you to the link of the real thing where the words are much bigger and easier to see.

  2. Love the idea! I thought your comment on Shannon's was great!
I was really intrigued with your wordle...here is my short:

Meera moved quickly through the dark night. She was a new apprentice to Morgana the mage who lived across the familiar oak lined campus. A large duffle bag weighed heavily on her shoulder. It contained a special vial of Brandywine that was very important to Morgana. Orientation had been hectic and she was running late. It was too bad her sister, Lilliana, wasn’t able to make it tonight.

The long dark pathway beside the freshmen dorm was littered with students lingering after check-in. A young daughter held tight to her mother as they said their goodbyes. It was the normal scene every year. It was always new people, old people; same school just a different day of the week.
Meera was just about to veer away when she saw Kolyan.
He was a knight with the most gorgeous blue eyes. His family was one of the oldest bloodlines left. His sunglasses sat perched on his head and wore a green shirt with a small emblem on the pocket. She knew without thinking it would be a crow. Morgana had given it to him during their first encounter. She had said it would keep him from losing sight of his purpose. Meera still wasn’t sure if either of them ever really understood Morgana’s ramblings.
His blond hair fell over a cut on his forehead and his cheek held the hint of a bruise. It would be crazy to stop and talk to him. Morgana would see red if I did not make it on time. They had been going out for just under a week. It was forbidden for them to date due to his family being one of knights and she was merely a mage in training. So they had kept up the pretense of just friends in public.
Just as she turned towards him Meera was pushed from behind and landed beneath the Volunteer for Peace sign. She rolled over to look up into the brown eyes of an angry arch-mage. Her fingers searched desperately for her bag. The moment she closed her hand around the handle she swung it at her attacker. He yelped and she quickly stood up running past the buildings and straight to Koylan.
She met his eyes as she grew closer and he nodded. She threw the bag towards him and when he caught it his face turned white.
A glance over her shoulder told her the arch-mage had stood up, his cloak billowed around him and he pointed towards her. Kids were watching confused as she ran forward. She risked another glance just as she passed the Welcome banner. The arch-mage stood with his shoulders squared staring straight at her. He was grinning and a crazy look was in his eyes. A flash of yellow filled the air and her vision clouded. The last thing she heard was Koylan screaming her name.

  3. WHOA! Now this is the story to beat! Some of what's in here is very amusing considering what actually happens in chapter 1-you did great!

  4. LOL, this is SO much fun. Having read your first chapter, I'm not entirely sure I can participate--though if I come up with something I'll come back and post it. But Southern Princess's story cracked me up (partially because of what I know and also just because, dang, how'd she do that so fast?) :)

BTW- the word "Just" was the number one word for my second chapter. Note to self, must go back and remove a few of those. :)

  5. Wow, Frankie. That picture made from your words is so PRETTY. I've never heard of wordle before. So thanks for the tip. I tried one of my picture books and it's cool.

Since I've read your entire ms, I'll have to disqualify myself from entering your contest, but have fun with it.

  6. Mary opened her eyes to complete darkness. Her mouth was dry, she did not remember when was the last time she drank something. The air in the room Mary was sitting was damp. There were no windows nor furniture. Mary sat on the floor trying to find the light switch so she could see something. She got up and started to walk little steps around the room. Just as she thought that she found the light switch something wet touched her hand. She moved her hand next to her nose and tried to smell it. The damp smell of the room was only what she smelled and slowly she moved her hand next to her mouth and licked the liquid from it.
'Blood', Mary said quietly. She started to go through her pockets to find her cell phone to get some light.
'Damn, I must have put my cell phone to my purse', Mary said to herself and cursed quietly.
'I quess I just have to work in the darkness', Mary said and started to move her hands around the floor area of the room. Suddenly her body stiffed. She heard a deep, deep sound of breathing. Mary stopped breathing herself and listened to the sound. Suddenly she felt a cold air coming to her face. Before she was able to do anything she felt something cold and sharp on her neck.

  7. Alright, this may be dark, but I'm not emo!

Enna fumbled with the keys to her apartment with the two full bags of groceries in her hands, when she finally got the door opened she found that she was not alone in her home.
"Hello Enny." Greeted a deep, familar male voice. Enna froze, she would know that voice anywhere. She looked up. There he was. Jeremy. "You know why I came, don't you?"
"Jeremy..."Enna started,"it doesn't have to be this way."
"I think it does," he growled.
Enna glanced at her door, she calculated how long it would take her to run out the door. When she heart the click of the loaded gun she knew it wouldn't be long enough.

Enna was currently residing in France, last week it had been Spain, and in two weeks she was planning of going to Romania. Now, she would be dead in less than a minute. Jeremy had been traking her down for months. She fled the second she learned her parents and sister were dead. She had known something was wrong long before that.

"Enna, say goodbye." Jeremy held the gun up and aimed it at her head. Enna closed her eyes. Jeremy had always been off, Enna was the only one who ever noticed it. When Jeremy found out he was adopded...he went physco.
"Jeremy, they still loved you. They always have. They always will. You're their son, even if they aren't your parents." I told Jeremy this, in hopes that my words would ring in his head long after I was dead.
"Yeah," Jeremy commented, "Is that so? What about you Enna. Am I your brother? Are you my sister?"
    "Always, Jer. Forever." Enna whispered.
"ALright, then En. See ya in Hell." He pulled the trigger. Enna heard the gun shot, she heard the scream, she blanched in pain. But then stopped.

It wasn't her scream, or her pain. It was Jeremy's. She opened her eyes, there lay her brother in a pool of blood. She whispered a prayer, grabbed her keys and ran. Sometimes love ran too deep.
