Good Update

I spent over an hour discussing my novel with Donna on the phone and then another with Geoff and it's all starting to come together (happy dances).

I realized (after Donna went on a major campaign with me) that I had given too much importance and significane and storytime to a character who really doesn't need to be in my story except for very devilish reasons. Now I know just what to do with him! I also picked out a story line that is going to be saved for a later book. And decided to simplify a certain character's motivations while making another's a little more complicated.

All in all, its coming together. Mostly the fact that Donna finished reading the whole thing and thought the ending actually made sense has relieved me to no end. I don't have quite as much work as I thought I'd have. But I need to get cracking. So now I'm just waiting to hear back from Laura and Joanne and then I'll be cranking out draft 2 as fast as I can.

It turns out we share a similar love for the Aha "Take On Me" video which totally reminded me of her book-she understands I don't expect everyone else to. We also have a thing for bathtubs. Anyway I'm getting pumped for my revision now, but sniff sniff, I have to go sleep! Why aren't there more hours in the day?
